I have been fostering to my cousins son for the second time now for 3 weeks. I allow her to call him daily, sometimes she calls more, and now she is saying things that are making him feel guilty about liking being at my home. He was taken away because she didn't feed him, no water, unsafe enviroment, and things like that. DFACS ordered supervised visits at my home, she come late and brings company. What should I do? He loves her, but it looks like he will be here for a long time.

First of all I applaud you for taking your cousins son in.You need to contact DFACS and clear up if phone calls are ok.If so you need to let them know how the child is becoming guilty everytime he talks to mom about living in your home.If they say no phone calls then you must stick to that.It might be a good ideal to have all visitations to take place at DFACS.The mother is starting to brain wash her child.I think it`s sad that he was taken away because of her neglect to him but now she wants to confuse him and make him feel guilty about living in a safe loving warm house where he is fed, cleaned and loved? She just aint right.

Since he is in your custody by a court order I suggest you tell her to go through the court in order to speak with her son. She has no right trying to make him feel guilty for being in a home where he is safe and cared for. Next time she calls tell her to go through the courts or to not call at all. If she does continue to call tell her you will give her son a message but that she can not speak to him because she upsets him.
