I have used almost all brands of vaccum cleaners and trust me, the best is the "Dyson" You should get a decent one for around 140 to 250 depending on the model.

Buy the one with the longest cord so you won't have to keep unplugging and plugging it in to reach the farthest corners of the room you're vacuuming. Make sure the cord is retracted automatically so you don't have to keep wrapping the cord up. Pick a light weight cleaner but heavy enough to do a good job. Buy one that does not need to be pushed but moves other than manually. You don't want a big old cumbersome vacuum cleaner that is hard to handle. Shop around for these criteria and then shop around to see who has it for the best price. If a woman would just invent a vacuum cleaner it wouldn't be so hard to find a good one. It would be the one a woman invented and designed.
