A breath test is only an indication you have been drinking and that you may be over the limit. To be more accurate a blood test is carried out after a breath test to find out the exact blood/alcohol content. Sobriety tests are carried out in the US in many states instead of a breath test. If the officer considers you incapable of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs you will be subject to further tests at the station.
