An attention-grabbing headline, I know.

Some one posted this reply to an earlier question:

"You're mistaken about Christianity. All that is required for salvation is that you believe Jesus is Lord, that He died to save your soul. The Bible says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved". "

...so following that argument, if Hitler had a sudden flash of inspiration just before he died and confessed with his mouth...believed with his heart... he could be in heaven, right? I know it's unlikely, but possible?

Actually, hitler was a christian all his life... Don't believe me? Read mein kampf cover to cover some time... if you don't have time for that, read this: http://www.nobeliefs.com/Hitler1.htm

So according to christian theology, not only is Hitler in heaven, but those six million jews he killed are all in hell... Pretty sick, isn't it?

After murdering millions of His chosen people, I truly believe if hitler was going to get an inspirational message from the Lord, it wouldn't be on his death-bed. Yes, if thou shalt confess with thy mouth that Jesus is Lord and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.....but even though God is a loving God, I find that hard to reconcile. But then again, I'm not God.....

Well, first, it is not for us to judge because we really do not and can never know everything that was going on in his mind.

Most agree that Hitler was quite insane to begin with, and the mercury pills his doctor gave him advanced that considerably in later years.

Now, we are told that the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and given his mental state even that can be brought into a question of culpability.

Yes, I believe it is possible that he can be in heaven. As for the probibility of the question though, unsure.

Hitler was not a Christian. He may have called himself one, but that certainly did not make him one. Jesus said people would know His disciples by their love, and Hitler didn't have a drop of love inside of him for anyone but himself. He murdered God's chosen people by the millions and didn't care about anyone but himself and his sick, twisted goal of annihilating God's people to make his own people great. The only flash that went through Hitler's mind at the last minute was a bullet.

1) Hitler was a christian so probably already believed the whole jesus thing.
2) You need to have a heaven/hell for a soul to go to after death.
So providing that you have the later the 1st is no big stretch to have happen.

part of salvation is living according to the bible and doing good deeds and praying, not just believing in god. you could believe in god but still to horrible things in your life but you wont be saved. hitler is most definatly not worthy of living with the lord.

Yes. If at the moment before he died, Hitler was sincerely repentent of his sins, and asked God to forgive Him through His son Jesus Christ, he would have been forgiven and granted access to heaven.

Yes, anyone can go to heaven because God will forgive those who seek it with a sincere heart. Now if that makes God somebody you would rather not hang out with, then you'd better take a good look at yourself.

The worldview of Hitler was completely consistent with the teaching of Darwin.

It's possible Hitler and Darwin are having Hot pockets as we speak.

Well yes, technically. The bigger question is, if one lives such a hardened life of sin, turned away from God, what is the likely hood that they will do all of that with a contrite heart? But if they do, one thing is clear, that God is all merciful. That really means something.
