Open a checking account at a bank, they will give you a debit Visa or Mastercard. It's very simple and they'll explain everything to you. Unlike a credit card, this card takes the money out of your checking account.

You shouldn't have a credit card until you have saved up about $10,000. and have it in the bank or reputable investments. Then you won't have to waste money paying interest on credit card charges.
