What year/trim level of each of those models are you looking at? I have a 2005 GTP that I absolutely love to death. It definitely has the most people space and the most trunk space of any of the rides you're looking at. In terms of acceleration the Pontiac will at least be competitive. Mine's pretty well loaded up (leather, power everything, etc.) and it's a heavy car to start with. A Lancer Evo GSR or whatever they call the top model of that thing will be quicker...possibly the top level eclipse also, if you get it without too many heavy options. Keep in mind thet top level models will cost abunch more to insure. I find the Grand Prix handles well. I would expect they all handle about the same. The lancer is available with AWD so that's got the edge, of you can afford it. I can't say what sort of safety features the other cars have, but my GTP has front driver and passenger airbags and side curtain airbags on both sides, front and back. Also, all GM cars come with OnStar free for a year. That's convenient for all kinds of reasons (check it out online...onstar.com I think), but especially cuz it automatically alerts Police/Paramedics if your airbag deploys. In my opinion, the GTP is the best looking of any of the cars you're considering. It's not like it's a close contest either. The rest of those cars are straight ugly...again...in my opinion. Also, the GTP sounds great, and you get bragging rights with the blower V6. The Pontiac is probably the most expensive of anything you're looking at. I've had mine for a year with no problems. It's reasonably quiet inside and it's comfortable. I'm not sure that guy who was talking about "being good with a wrench" really knows what he's talking about, or maybe he just ahad a bad experience. The facts are, the 3.8 V6 is based on a Buick design that dates back to the 1960's, they've been supercharged since the late 90's at least, and they were turbocharged (in the Buick Regal T-type and GN/GNX) in the late 80's. It's probably safe to assume most of the bugs have been worked out. You also may want to consider the G6.
Whichever car you end up with, I hope you enjoy it!

If you like the GTP, you should really check out the Pontiac GTO. I own one of those and its an AMAZING car. Since you want something sporty, a two door would help with that, and you can't get the GTP in a two door. The GTO comes with 400 Horsepower (you will smoke almost every car... 0 to 60 in just over 4 seconds) standard leather, 6 disc changer w/subs, fully customizable driver info center, steering wheel controls, everything you could possiby want. The MSRP on a new one is right about the same as a GTP, or you can find nice used ones too (they came out in 04). Seriously just go test drive one. Your mind will be made up as soon as you do. I was in the same situation as you, wanted something sporty, pretty fast, good equipment, etc. The minute after I got back from the test drive with the GTO, I bought it. It was hands down the most fun I have ever had in a car. As an owner, I can also say its been 100% trouble free!

Go with the Toyota all the way. It will handle abuse and neglect better than the others. Stay away from the GTP unless youre handy with a wrench.

Toyota will pretty much last the longest. Mitsubishi's are not good cars. They break down. Toyota is your best bet. I PROMISE. I have a Toyota and my parents always have had them.

Price all being close, buy the Pontiac or Toyota, better car and warranty.
