When the Pilgrims landed here does anyone here honestly believe they would have gotten back on the boat and sailed right back home if the Native Americans presented them with their written law saying they were not allowed here? Give me a break! The white people didn't abide by their own laws and own word and broke treaties with the Native Americans. Everybody is talking about how "we paid for this land". I don't see too many rich Native Americans walking around...in fact, I don't see that many at all! Hmmm! Wonder what happened to them? And for those of you who want me to ask Native Americans what they think about illegal immigration - WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO SAY?! Look what happened LAST TIME that happened. They almost got wiped out.

It was wrong for them to do it then. And it would be wrong to do it now. Two wrongs don't make a right.

EDIT: No rich native americans?? Have you forgotten about the indian casinos that they run tax-free???

The natives were believers in peace and the first newcomers took advantage of that. Since most "developed" nations believe that wars are "ok, if it is for the good of their people", but natives did not think that way. So this let them get taken over.

Just like when China took over Budapest. They let it go and moved on. They left with nothing. The natives kept moving on until there was nowhere left to move onto. Then they were left with nothing.

No. They likely would not have obeyed those laws. But, might often means right. One would hope that we beyond the idea that if I don't agree with a law, I don't need to obey it nor should I suffer any consequences for my choice.

Many things that were not right were done in the past. If you use past actions as a justification, then you can justify just about any action. Where does that leave the world as a soceity?

it's your choice to break the law. but if you break the law, you need to take responsibility and suffer the consequences. the problem isn't the law; its that so many people can slither their way out of paying for breaking it. why would you stop breaking the law if you never got anything but a slap on the hand for it? all the high power defense attorneys are making it so easy for criminals to get away free and clear. the mative americans could have had all the laws they wanted. their justice system would have made or broken them.
