I'd rather be drilled through the knee caps than join Christianity. Sorry if that's a bit harsh, but that's how I feel.

Well if it was proved to be true and we all knew for definite it was true then obviously i would believe in it. However i still wouldn't want to be part of it because i wouldn't worship a controlling power freak. I would still do as i wished and go to the other place. Besides from what Ive seen i doubt if many people would actually get to heaven, including Christians themselves. They break the rules all the time, more so than non believers. Heaven would be virtually empty. All the rich and famous would be in hell anyway so sounds much more fun. I would be bored still in a heaven like its described.

I have never heard about believing in Jesus for 70 years.
Your questions confuse me.
I am an atheist but I have none of the thoughts you do about ....
God, Jesus, eternal life. etc.

I already spent too much of my life as a Christian; I cannot think of a single thing I loved about it, with the exception of finally freeing my mind of its grasp. Eternal life? Even if I wanted such a thing to be true, that would not be sufficient to make it so. At one time, the majority of the world's population believed the world to be flat. That did not change the shape of the earth.

I'm a Christian, but your question is very confusing and mixed up, you don't have to believe in Jesus for about 70 yrs. (how do you know you won't die tonight)? You put your eternal soul in His hands and trust that He paid the price for your sins, something we can't pay ourselves, because He was sinless and we are NOT. It's an act of FAITH.

its not about 70 years.. not 1.. nor100, if you dont believe in God.. well thats fine. Nobody has the right to make you believe in Him. You have to find him for yourself. He is a loving God, believe me. He still loves you no matter what. If you regret everything and say " I love you" to Him, he would forgive you..
God Bless

You're mistaken about Christianity. All that is required for salvation is that you believe Jesus is Lord, that He died to save your soul. The Bible says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved". Time has nothing to do with it. You could accept Jesus, die tomorrow, and you'd have eternal life.

As a Scientific Humanist I feel no need to start talking to some invisible power that nobody can see or hear but is supposed to be all powerful.
Religion, especially modern Christianity is a moral and spiritual crutch used by those that haven't used their intellect to move past primitive superstition.
