They are different rewrites. People have different agendas.
As far as the "best read," your best bet would be to break into Vatican City and read the gospels not included in any of the Bibles released popularly today; such include the Gospel of Thomas and the Book of Hours, which discusses the female Goddess.

The Old Testament was written in Hebrew (a little bit in Aramaic), and the New Testament was written in Koine Greek.
Although there are many version of the Bible that use different words, the substance or meaning of the original can usually be found. Different versions come about when people try to translate the Bible in a way that is easier to understand.
Best? Well, that would have to be the original penned by the prophet or apostle who was inspired by God.

True, there are many different versions of the Bible. There are versions in Chinese for the Chinese. There are versions in Russian for the Russian people. There are actually thousands of versions of the Bible—some are in modern languages, some in foreign languages, and some are in old English. Few, in the printing age, can claim that they don’t have access to the Scriptures in their own language. However, each translation is based on the original biblical texts.
Personally, if you want the most litteral and most readable english translation I suggest the NASB (New American Standard Bible).

I like comparing the translations. The easiest read is simply called the Good News. New American Bible is next in simplicity. New Revised Standard Version (Catholic edition) is supposed to be the most precise. I like the King James version because its the most poetic.

They are all pretty much the same (with some different wording). I have like 5 different versions (which is funny because I am Atheist), but I, and most people I know, read the "King James" version the most. I also like the "New International Version".

they are from diffrent translations from different early manuscripts
but seriosly don't read the bible.
I can't tell u not to be a christian
but the best advice i can give u is to not read it cause then you believe it word for word and then you will be another hypocritical idiot like the rest of them
