Am Asking this Question cause am 14 years old, and i have never had chicken pox that i can remember of, i asked my mom, she said she cant remember either and asked my bro who was around me all my life said he cant rember of me getting chicken pox, so i think ive never had it, ive been around people that had it, like my friend had it and didnt tell me, he came to my house and stuff, we play fight, and wrestle but nver got it, i dont know if am Immune to it, And i have been told i have an extremly good immune system if i get a runny nose or one of those 7 day colds, mine only lasts for like 2-4 days, and if i got a Cough it goes away quick, I dont know if i am ever gonna get it. i was around my bro when he got chicken pox, we used to wrestle and stuff, when he, had it but i didn't get, this is all confusing to me.

I might already had it but the virus was tooo weak and didnt show, like bumbs and stuff, cause they say chicken pox improves your Immune System, so i think i already had it, but i guess it didnt show it self or probably had it when i was like four or something but couldnt remember, i dont know, i gotta go to Da Doctor and check it out

It is not impossible to go your entire life and never get the chicken pox. If you are really concerned about it, you can go to your Dr, and ask for a blood test to see if you are immune to the chicken pox. You could have contracted the virus, but never got sick or sores with it, or so few you didn't notice it. There is also a shot which you may have already gotten at an earlier time that protects you from the chicken pox by giving you immunity. It is common practice to give these as routine shots in this day and age. But, like i said, a simple blood test will tell you whether you have already developed your immunity to the virus which causes chicken pox. . If you are not immune a simple shot will give you immunity. It will only hurt for a minute or two, so be brave and ask mom to take you to see the doctor. Good Luck !

Yes definitely one can actually live his entire life without having chicken pox. Actually, you remind me of myself...

We have quite a similar case only when I was 16, I had my chicken pox. I barely had it like there were just a few blisters coming out my tummy, back and legs but it was definitely chicken pox because I had it checked by a doctor. I didn't catch a fever or something. It was like as if I was never infected with the virus. I've been told by my parents also that I have such good immune system that even if I did catch the virus at such that age, it was as if I don't have it at all. My younger bro who was very attached to me was always around me even that time when I had the chicken pox. We slept side by side. We played together. He was always in my room with me during that time I had chicken pox. We were expecting he'll catch the virus too since he was really clingy to me then but he didn't get it.

So, one can live his entire life without catching the virus especially those who have such good immune system like us =)

However, be cautious still. There's a possibility that you could have catched the virus before and there's a super infection of it called herpes zoster which is like chicken pox only it affects the nerves and can be really painful.

yes it is possible but if never getting the chicken pox in young age a danger of shingles lingers in your older years.. my husband is 43 and had shingles and they were very painful to him another thing is too is if you never had the chicken pox and you go around someone with shingles you could very well end up with the chicken pox

If I were you, I'd go to the doctor and ask about getting vaccinated for it...shouldn't you already have this vaccination for school?
Anyway, I had a friend who caught it when he was in his late 20s and it was HORRIBLE! The older you are when you catch it, the worse it is. He had the itchy pus-bumps down his throat, in his ears, everywhere! I've heard that women can get them...everywhere...if you know what I mean. Get vaccinated so you don't get it later.

You have to be immunized against chicken pox to attend school so you should be OK!

My dad is 60 and has never had it. if you have not had it at your ages odds mom was near someone when she was pregnant and you ended up with the antibodies and are likely not going to get it. but when you do as an adult its called shingles and can be quite painful.

Since you are 14yo, you might have been vaccinated for it. Many states require VARICELLA vaccination. This will prevent development of the full disease.
