I was involved in a automobile accident where the other driver admitted fault at the scene to the police. It was a pretty high speed accident. Can I find out the policy limits on bodily injury from the insurance carrier?

Sorry, but you do not have the right to ask for this information from the agent. What, you want to make sure you sue for the maximum? However, the information may be revealed in a court action. What kind of injury did you sustain?

It depends on the state. There are some states that require them to disclose it if asked to- however, there are not that many (I can name one definite and a possible second). Unless you had a devastating and catastrophic injury there's no reason for you to know the limits. They'll pay you what your claim is worth and of course within the limits. If their offer is limits, they will have to tell you that.

Ditto what Cowboy Bill said.

No. The amount of coverage is not public information, and you have no right to ask. If your claim is over the coverage, you will find that out soon enough.

No. This is only done as discovery in court.
Just WHY do you need to know the limits? Think you just hit the lottery, don't you?
