Could be cherry eye. Take it to the vet. If you caught it early enough you can take care of it right away. If you don't take care of it, it could get infected and be extremely painful. Just take it to the vet.

If it is on the bottom lid, it is commonly called a "cherry eye" dogs and cats have what is called a third eyelid, what you are seeing is a rupture of the gland...that glands helps the pup produce tears, there are 2 ways to treat it, both are surgeries, one is the vet will completely remove it (not this best choice) because your dog could develop a condition called "dry eye" later on in life, which comes from the eye not producing enough tears or your vet will do a sugery that will tack the gland back in place.. hope this helps

My friend's dog had a seizure of some sort and when he recovered, he had what looked like pink meat protruding from the side of his eyeball. It's been there for months now and it grosses me out. Perhaps you should see a vet and determine what exactly is the cause.

dogs have 2 eye lids the inside layer acts as a band -aid if something happens to the eye the vet can pull the inner layer down over the eye i know it sounds gross but i had to have it done to my dog my cat scratched his eye pretty bad he or she might have a infection maybe call a vet and ask them but sounds like nothing to worry about

this is what you call a cherry eye...the dogs third eyelid has become inflamed and "popped" out. It needs to be surgically replaced.
