if its curly then charles worthington was on this morning today and he showed a new way of cutting the hair.

he took each big curl, twisted it and started razoring it about halfway down until the end.

this took loads of weight out of the hair and made the shape beautiful.

also - try going to bed with olive oil in your hair - (wrapped in a towel or something obviously) wash it out with shampoo and your hair should feel lovely! cheaper and better than 'hot oil'.

leave in conditioner is excellent. make your hair easier to handle.

if it is straight - then straightener are great - ceramics leave a lovely sheen on your hair but damage your hair and you will need to use then all the time.

try a nourishing shampoo and conditioner - redken allsoft is excellent.

keep your hair trimmed every six weeks to get rid of split ends.

why not try just highlighting your hair rather than a full lightening as it will be gentler and can look alot more natural and fashionable.

hope something works!

With the John Frieda products you have to start from the beginning; ie, shampoo, conditioner, and a serum. I have the worst frizz - dry, frizzy, dyed, live in hot, humid Houston, and came back truly weird after chemo - but the JF Frizz Ease Curl Around Shampoo & Conditioner, followed by JF Downplay has worked miracles for me. I agree that the serum wasn't great, but wasn't using the other products first.

Try Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum.

I too have to fight the frizzies. I tend to leave a little bit of conditioner in my hair and that helps a lot. Also try using LUSH products they are amazing they don't test on animals and smell divine.

Why have you waited 40 years to ask for help?

Simon has a point!
just shave it all off and be done with it, it looks ridiculous anyway.
