First and foremost - call your dentist (or see another one) if you believe you have an absess. Your condition sounds worse then simple case of gum disease and needs attention. The last thing you need is for the infection to worsen.

You might possible have perodontal disease where the plaque has gotten from your teeth to the gums. You may need to go to another peroidontist to have hiim examine your mouth again. The plaque that occurs under the gum will "rot" away the gum tissue and that will have to be removed, surgerally. Also a "root-planeing" may be in order.

Be sure not to brush to hard as that can also cause bleeding.
Also, check the oral hygeine of the person you are kissing. There is a gum infection that can spread through that so check w/ your dentisit.
