Courting VS. Dating. . ?

What is your opinion on the two?

Dating: going out with a member of the opposite sex, with no intentions of marrage. (mostlikly with physical contact)

Courting: Going out with the member of the opposite sex, with the intentions of marrage.( no physical contact untill after marrage)

I think it all comes down to the purity of your heart. Dating is not a sin. Courting is not better than dating. I think that relationships grow and change and develop.

I think that sometimes it can be too much pressure on a relationship if you are getting into it 'with the intention of marriage'. Whatever just happened to enjoying yourselves and seeing where the relationship goes?j

Also, just because a couple has put a title on their relationship status (either dating or courting) it's not to say whether or not they are going to be physically intimate or not. I know plenty of awesome Christians that have ended up sleeping together during their courtships. It does happen. It's how you deal with it that reflects on the relationship.

Well, my younger cousins, who were raised Assemblies of God like I was, gave me some books by Joshua Harris to read to show me where their ideas about "courting" came from.

They were made to feel very guilty just for going to the movies with a kid in their class or having a crush or kissing! I'm very glad they dropped it, even though the reason they did was that their father was very hypocritical. (He cheated on my aunt, quite flagrantly.)
