Dear jrunkro,
The Bible instructs us to test everything. I would say if the music you are listening to speaks about Jesus and righteous things, there's nothing wrong with it. Jesus never condemned: Rock or rap, etc. (Sorry not familiar with any of the bands you mentioned- i'm more of a Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, etc.)
One rule of thumb that you should follow however is if something causes your brother/sister to stumble you should refrain from it. So for example the people who say you are listening to Satan's music- maybe you should listen to something else when you're around them- so it doesn't cause them to stumble.
In terms of other music-- i think you just have to be mindful of the content- and how unedifying thoughts and words can get into your brain and heart. Jesus asks us to dwell on things that are lovely, and edifying.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

First of all these people who tell you that music is "Satan's" are just plain wrong God created everything and if it is lifting up his name it can never be wrong. For your second question, if you are not having a problem listening to it then it is not wrong, but if you are having trouble with it then it is probably not good. I have never heard any songs by "MCR" or "The Used" as far as AC-DC is concerned I never really did care for their lyrics(even before I was a Christian) however their music rocks. Have you ever listened to Skillet or Pillar? they have some real good tunes too.

Christian Rock is great. There is nothing I see that is wrong with those listening lifting their voices up to God and raising their hands in worship to God. I am sure God is smiling down when we praise him this way!!! I listen to Aerosmith on occasion and some of the older classical rock on occasion. If the lyrics get to derogatory, I turn it off, as I don not like to hear that stuff. Just be selective with what you are hearing. I most definitely consider myself to be a faithful Christian

Oh, that rock and roll is the DEVIL'S music! It makes your hips gyrate! It causes FORNICATION!
Seriously, man. Art is art. Great art enriches your soul, no matter what the beliefs of the people who made it. Mozart was a screwed-up unbelieving Freemason. Listen to his Requiem and tell me it's not a message from God. Same goes for rock'n'roll... I don't care if Duane Allman was a Christian or not... his guitar speaks truth to me!

I'm a former musician...and I had to study Richard Wagner (an occultist) and others who made great music, but are not Christians.
Keith Green once wrote that music is like a knife. The same song (or knife) can be used for dressing game, prepping vegetables or killing a person.
It's all in how you use it.

Of course you lose interest in the rock n roll as you become closer to God but, there are good bands out there that have great messages about Christ and God. Reliant K is new and good for everyone including God lovers.

While the Bible teaches that Christians are IN this world, but not OF it, I see nothing wrong with Christians using the availble venues for spreading their Gospel.
With that being said, you need to ask yourself exactly why you listen to bands such as AC/DC.
I know nothing about the other two bands, but AC/DC has made many songs dealing with hedonistic attitudes & behaviors.
Maybe you could ask yourself, "If Jesus were sitting in my room, would I say to Him, 'Hey, you wanna listen to AC/DC/s Highway to Hell, or Hell's Bells'?"

God put electric guitars, keyboards, synthesizers, and All musical instruments here for the sole purpose of us using them to worshipping Him.
As far as secular music, be discerning as to what you let into your ear gate, but ultimately, it's between you and God.
Dance like David danced!!!

Any god that I'll ever worship is gonna listen to some AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd - even Motown sometimes. That's just the deal for me. If your god doesn't appreciate good music, don't come around telling me how great he is.
