The egg, by several million years. Ancient amphibians and reptiles were laying eggs long before any kind of bird (let alone modern chickens) evolved.

ok who ever says chicken is a dumbass the question doesnt specify what kind of egg and there eggs way before the chicken e.g. dinosour, fish and prehistoric insects there fore the egg came first.

On one of the six days,( I'm sorry, i forget which one), I say six because on the seventh day; He rested. "God the Creator", created animals, to roam His Earth. I believe the "chicken" came along with "the rooster" on that particular day, soon after, It was then that came" the egg". then, as a direct result, more and more chicken and roosters...
