The worst thing about loaning money to your parents is that when you ask them for it back, all they do is remind you of the sacrifices that they made with raising your. It is not your fault, you didn't ask to be born.
I agree with most of the others. Let them know that you need your money, ask for it, when you know that they have some money. AND DON'T LEND THEM ANOTHER DIME.

DONT, just plan ur future wisely so u will have financial freedom. im in the same situation, cept im a male, and im single with no kids....and ive given my mom more than 1200. She says that she will pay it back but i highly doubt. so now i do 2 things: 1) when they ask u for money say u dont have a lot/ less than what u actually have and 2) plan ahead cuz u know that anytime they need money they will ask u first. I confronted my mom about it, all that did was cause an argument....cuz if she doesnt have the money, then she cant give it back to ya. AND parents or not, they always make excuses......

You don't. The number 1 rule about loaning money to family members is that you shouldn't expect to get it back.
Besides, after spending what they did to birth, clothe, feed, and raise you, $1200 is just a miniscule drop in a pool.
Be responsible for yourself. If you're not in the position to give your parents a relatively small amount of money, stop doing it. As far as the money you've already given them, consider it a gift and don't give Christmas/Hannukkah or birthday presents.

1,2000.00 is a small amount of money to bug them about. You know they are having a hard time right now. Try to understand. The good lord will bless you and you will come out on top with way more than $1,200.00 worth. So be nice and kind and you will get yours, I promise. You only get one set of parents, years from now when they are gone you will wish they were here to lend even more money to. Don't ever forget that.

that's a challenging subject. i'm able to be sure the place your concern lies, and in case you are able to cope with to pay for it, then i'd enable it bypass. you purely have one dad and this would reason a superb form of pointless rigidity on your dating. you are able to ask and ask yet whilst they don't have the funds, then you truthfully'll on no account get it except you're taking them to courtroom, which it does not sound such as you decide directly to do. Now granted, I agree they did you incorrect, yet from time to time you purely gotta enable issues bypass. i'm purely announcing to enable it bypass because of the fact it is your loved ones. in case you easily choose the funds, perchance kindly seek suggestion from them and set up a fee contract and placed it in writing. solid luck. that's a coarse subject and that i wish you the superb.

Don't expect any payment. This will just cause discord. Your mom gave birth to you, raised you and there is no dollar amount to compensate for that. $1,200 may be a lot, but really it is too little when it comes to destroying a relationship. I would mention it to them but if they tell you that they cannot pay you, then drop it and let it go. Helping someone you love may be a huge sacrifice but worth it at times.

Are your parents together or seperated ? .. This sounds really weird to me. Have they had a pattern of taking advantage of you through-out your life ? .. I don't think they have any plan at all of giving it back to you .. Why did you loan it out in the first place ?? They are your parents and can take care of themselves.. let them get a bank loan. That is cruel to take it from you and not pay it back ASAP !!! Good Luck ! :)

sorry for you
you are not gonna get it back,
they will say it's for compensation to how much they spent on you when you were still a kid
deal with it, $1,200 not that much

unfortunately, there's only one way for everything. just be straight forward. remind them that you lend them money, and politely explain that you are going through hard times and you need it back.
