I thought I had cerole like the receipe called for but I don't. I have never made catfish before. What seasonings are the best to use?

bread crumbs garlic and lemon somerimes dill or parcley salt and pepper

Go to the store and look for a breading mix--they come in spicy or cajun--(luzianns is good & Tony chacereas) I never season my catfish much, I put a little mustard in some milk to use as a base to hold the seasoned breading mix on.Remember when frying--when the fish starts to float roll it over to cook evenly-cause it's done

Shore Lunch breading, its sooo yummy!! Then just sprinkle some of the creole spices into the mix before frying if you like it spicy.

us some mustard, steak sauce, parsely, garlic powder, hot pepper flakes,onion salt, flour mix all of the above and fry as usual. [this is not exactly like creole but will taste ok]

I always just dipped it in corn meal with salt and pepper and cooked it in oil.
