why do guys wont girls who are smaller than them?
im 5.2 1/4 and my friend is always calling me a halfling like in the movie the lord of the rings and how the hobbites are called halflins.
why does he do that?
also what do guys like in a girl?

Being taller than a girl allows us to feel protective, most of us like that.
Guys also like to nickname their friends, I used to call one of mine 'Gelflin' from 'Dark Crystal'.
Guys like different things, the immature and inexperienced will no doubt include T & A in their answers, but generally that is not true. They may want go out with that, but they want to be with someone funny, (sorry0 with a good personality, and someone who knows who she is.
Guys like to see you dress up cute, because well it's cute. we also like to see you jeans, in in gowns, in costumes, well basically we like to see you.
Hair is dependent on the situation. Personally I prefer it shorter than longer, or up rather than down.
Me, me andme again, I like smart, appreciate nice, want affection and desire loving.

Oh, I flunked sixth grade spelling. It forced me to learn how to use a dictionary. I wish I had spell check then, it's wonderful.

Guys just don't feel right dating a girl that is taller/larger than them. I'm not entirely sure why (not that I'm any different). Generally a girl looks better with her hair down (in my opinion), it's more natural also."Do any guy like a girl who is smart, nice, effectionate,and loving?" Yes, that's exactly what a guy likes, exept those who think of nothing but sex (though there are a lot of those)
