Benefits of Sweating
CALORIC CONSUMPTION: An often-repeated statement that "effortless weight reduction by methods that cause increased water loss causes temporary reduction in body weight until re-hydration occurs" is misleading. Sweating is a part of the complex thermoregulatory process of the body involving substantial increases in heart rate cardiac output, and metabolic rate, and consumes considerable energy. In a sauna, infrared heat is absorbed by the subject from radiation, convection, and conduction. The only means of maintaining body temperatures in the normal range is by evaporation of sweat, a process that consumes approximately 0.586 kcal per gram of water lost. A moderately conditioned person can easily "sweat off" 500g in a sauna, consuming nearly 300 kcal-the equivalent of running 2 to 3 miles. A heat-conditioned person can easily sweat off 600 to 800 kcal with no adverse effects. While the weight of the water lost can be regained by re-hydration with water, the calories consumed will not be.
DETOXIFICATION: While in the sauna, the capillaries dilate, permitting increased flow of blood to the skin in an attempt to draw heat from the surface and disperse it inside the body. The sauna user's skin becomes cherry red and the heart is pressed into a faster pace to keep up with the additional demands for blood. Impurities in the liver, kidneys, stomach, muscles, brain, and most other organs are flushed out by the faster flow of blood. The skin filters the wastes and excretes them in sweat.
During a 15-minute sauna, sweating can perform the heavy metal excretion that would take the kidneys 24 working hours. Sweat also draws out lactic acid , which causes stiff muscles and contributes to general fatigue. Sweat flushes out toxic metals such as copper, lead, zinc and mercury, which the body absorbs in polluted environment.
HANGOVERS: While drinking in the sauna is not recommended, sweating can do wonders for hangovers in the morning. The sauna's heat speeds metabolism and hastens the elimination of additives in the cheap alcohols that cause hangovers. For the common headaches, usually caused by the constriction of capillaries in the head, using a sauna can dilate these vessels, relax the body and bring relief.

Sweating is a good guideline that you are really working out.
Sweating alone(like from a sauna suit) is useless.
Of course, sweating is how humans cool there bodies.
