I am assuming you mean Roy Lichtenstein, who was a prominent American pop artist. His work borrowed heavily from popular advertising and comic book styles, which he himself described as being "as artificial as possible".

No one else thought of it quite like he did. Using the simplistic image of comics, he added a new dimension to the art world , why, because he could.
