You could mash them, then pass them through a sieve. This will get them to the right consistency. Alternatively, mash them, then use a fork or whisk to get them to a finer consistency than mashing alone.

actually a blender would be the wrong tool to use .A food processor is what's more often used since you have neither try this method.
Mash the chick peas into coarse paste,
Place a wire mesh strainer over a pot or a bowl and put the chickpeas into the strainer
Using the back of a wooden spoon push the mashed peas thru the mesh taking time to scrape the bottom of the strainer
repeat
A drum sifter works well also

in my opinion, i think it would have better texture if it was blended rather than mashed, but you could always try it that way. I've never mashed it before but it's worth a try!

Absolutely. Mash them well and add tahini (sesame paste) and lots of garlic and lemon juice....

with blender is better but if u do not have u can mashed it but it will be not so godd

yes but it will be chunkier....just keep mashing until you get the desired consistency...chunkier might not be bad.
