Because war is very profitable fot the powers that be, and it furthers their agenda.
The Iraq war.
Why did it start?
The war was started under the premise that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction. Now we know that was a lie, and as a result of the Downing Street Papers, we also know that both Bush and Blair knew it was a lie.
So there are two crimes to start with.
The real reason for going to war in Iraq is that it was instructed by the powers that be that run the world, and control most of the governments, and the UN.
They are called by several names, such as The Illuminati, New World Order, Fourth Reich, The Elite, Bunderburgers, Zionists, and Globalists.
They consist of a small number of very rich and very powerful families, who have an agenda to control the entire planet, dispose of over half the people, and enslave the remainder.
They are the ones who provide instructions to government, and any president or prime minister who does not comply with these instructions ends up like JFK.
Through the secret service departments, which they also control, they create various false-flag terrorist events, in an effort to justify war. 9/11 is such a case.
What is the current situation?
The current situation is disastrous for both sides, as is the usual case in war.
The coalition forces, mainly American are suffering high losses, with no end to the war in sight.
The Iraqis are suffering incredibly high losses of civilians and those defending their country, both from direct fighting, and from the horrors of depleted uranium. which causes radiation similar to nuclear weapons.
As a result of many Iraqis being disfigured for life, and in incredible pain, then they are easily persuaded to take their own life, and to take out invading forces with them. This is why there is such an increase in suicide bombers - they have no hope of a reasonable life, and are soon to die anyway.
The depleted uranium is blowing all over the world, and has been recorded as far away as London. This is causing the cases of cancer to escalate world wide.

We are not still at war with Iraq, we are in it with the insurgency. because this isn't a war that is going to be won in only a few years. People are going to need to understand that this is going to take time.... A LONG TIME to come to an end. the vote is still out whether it will be a success or not. But judging that we didn't learn from Vietnam, the outcome doesn't look good.

The reason we are still at war with Iraq is because if we are no longer at war with Iraq, one of two things must happen:
1) we have to pull out, leaving law and order to a government that isnt fully formed in the midst of civil unrest, Iran heating up rhetoric, N Korea building bombs, Afganistan suppressing Taliban, and Israel shooting everything that moves.
2) we have to claim Iraq as a territory, meaning we will NEVER leave...and they will hate us more than they already do (it is possible).
Choose wisely.

No one is still at war with Iraq.
Bush went in to Iraq with no plan to introduce stability in to the country after he had kicked out Sadam. Therefore US and British troops have to remain there until the Iraqi's sort out a constitution

because if we left they would come over here and blow us all up. since troops have been in iraq has anymore 9/11s happened? no. it is to protect the USA! and what would you propose we do if we pull out? people can complain about the war, but the complainers don't have a plan or any ideas on what we should do.

I believe we need to back down and have Iraqi military start to take care of their own country. Because If we stay the Iraqi 's will not be able to it themselves.

Hmm....because Bush has an adgenda we as Americans wont ever know. There are no weapons, which was the primary reason he gave for occupation. That is a question every one of us needs to pose directly to him.
It is time to hold him accountable.

I've wondered this myself.
We went to war because of the bad-guy "terrorists" that scared W.
But now we're besieged by terrorists at home who are shooting our children in their schools, and Georgie W. does nothing about it.

Officially we are not AT WAR with Iraq
We are now a peace keeping force.
They are at war with us, right enough, and each other, but we are not at war with them.
