Leather is nice cause it doesn't absorb smells like cloth does (ex:smoke, food, body odor, etc) so the car stays smelling newer longer. But on the down side it tends to crack unless you stay on top of putting conditioner on it. I have leather in my car, first time I have ever had it. I don't have heated / cooled seats, and I think its just fine. I'd take leather personally, but you have to justify it yourself for the extra 2 g's.

Leather seats are not worth in a Scion, leather is for bigger and better cars, and the Scion is a little car for week end racers with lot of plastic around it. Scion TC is an expensive car, compared to similar cars in the market, and 2 thousand more is a lot of money, you could get a better car for that amount.

If they tell you they can not find one without it, they want you to pay a lot of money for it. Tell them you go to other place, and they will find a car without it. Do your homework and start requesting quotes in the internet.

That's too much to spend on leather. You can dicker on that too, but I don't think it's worth it in a Scion. I love leather, though. Especially now that some car companies have heated AND cooled seats.

If your willing to spend the extra it depends on where you live. If you live in a climate region that is mostly cold the non-leather is warm all year round while the leather is hot in the summer and cold in winter.

Leather is nice looking but I prefer cloth as it tends to breath so you don't get hot and sticky feeling when you drive a long ways. Save your money or use it to upgrade your sound system.

Its very hot to sit on in the summer time and very cold in the winter time.So if you park in a garage in the summer it is OK and if it has heated seats the winter is OK but they do require special care to keep them from cracking. If your not going to keep it long for resale it may help you and you can allways use a seat cover if you find you dont like them.
