This metaphor is meaningless to me. Are you talking about having a physical feeling? An emotional experience? An invasion by a parasite that takes up residence in your left ventricle?

(Sorry. Christians who can't translate their faith into English provoke my smarty-pants side. The question is serious.)

It's a metaphor obviously. Jesus didn't literally go into their heart, that would ultimately cause cardiac arrest regardless of his metaphysical status. It means that they found solus in faith in Jesus (although I wish they'd be a bit more specific).

Lack of knowledge of Scripture. Maybe this will help them. Physical death is merely an appointment and the birthday of eternity. We all will be judged by the Ten Commandments. Why did God mention a second Death? Could that be for lawbreakers? Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment. Heb. 9:27 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." Rev. 21:8

Jesus' and being came into the heart of man. Basically he came to enlighten us. God is love. I am sure you have heard that. So if God, aka love, enters your heart he is there to teach you to love. Jesus is the same as God, which is told in the trinity (One God in three persona's. The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. The trinity is a very confusing concept but I take the best description is water. Water in liquid form is still water, vapor form is still water and frozen ice form is still water, none is better then the other.... Okay I am side tracking but that is about Jesus being God.) Jesus gives you the ability to love such as God loves. Not as powerfully though. Love is a trait that only human being have. This ability is great and powerful. Another interpretation can be God enlightening you to his word... His teachings and his way. God is the WORD. God is the LORD. When people realize this truly it is the work of the Holy Spirit, which is also God.

Here is a kindergarden idea.

God comes down and lives in you. You are a temple of his love. God dwells within you.

The metaphor is meaningless to you because you are not a christian and do not believe in God. When someone says Jesus came into my heart it could be a physical feeling as in getting the "holy ghost" while in church ( you probably don't know what that means either lol ) emotional as in feeling his spirit or just by getting saved and accepting him into your life and devoting yourself to a christian way of life.

It means that you ask Jesus to come and live inside of you through the power of the Holy Spirit. It requires faith to actually believe that Jesus does come into your heart. And faith is the belief in things unseen so you have to start there by actually considering that Jesus may be who He says He is and that he can come into your heart. And it is a physical and emotional feeling. Its physical because you can actually feel the love that God has for you when you begin to realize how awesome He is. And its emotional because God is love and everyone has that hole in their heart where He belongs. And when you find it, its so awesome!!! I'm speakin from experience. You should read about Jesus and then ask Him into your heart and see for yourself. Dont forget the faith part either, that's important!

Romans 10:10 "It is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God..." The heart is the core the very person himself. When someone say that Jesus came into their heart, it simple means 'a change' a 180 degree turn around.

Its the way parents explain becoming a Christian to children. I don't think you would really hear Adults using that phrase to explain the Religious decision they have made to acknowledge that Jesus died for them. Because you don't believe in a personal Savior you aren't going to find meaning in Christian Phrases. Its not a feeling. Its a choice.

It means that you have accepted Jesus as your saviour. You have claimed that you believe he has died for your sins and rose from the dead. It is something that cannot be explained in words...like Love. Immediately your life changes, you feel different and you know he has made a difference. Life is not perfect dont get me wrong. But at least you have a guide.

Well what really happens is that we get what God had told us through the prophet Ezekiel it is found in chapter 36 verse 26. "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." I guess people think that Jesus is "coming into their hearts" but what really happens is we get a new one. With God this is possible through Christ Jesus.

Revelations 3:20, Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me."

People say Jesus came into my heart, because they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they believe He came from Heaven to Earth, took on the sins of the world, died on the cross, and rose again. It means that they give their whole life to Jesus. EVERYTHING, because God commanded to have no other gods before Him.

Paul said in the Bible that when someone does accept Jesus into their heart and life, a portion of Jesus is actually in that person. Because we can never be like Christ, He was blameless, pure, holy, sinless, and righteousness, but we can strive to be like Him and work towards that. Its not physical, but spiritual.

Everyone is born spiritually dead, but when Jesus comes into our heart, He raises up from the dead and gives us eternal life. When someone asks Jesus to invest into them, He will, but that person needs to seek Jesus out as well.

So that saying means that Jesus is living inside of you and that you have given your life over to Jesus where He will lead and guide you.

"Greater is HE who is in me, than he that is in the world."

In English, "Greater is GOD who is in me, than Satan that is in the world." This is a verse that a true believer should use when being tempted by any demonic spirit.
