Or does it basically do the same thing as gum with sugar in it?

Gum doesn't really do anything for your teeth. It can temporarily freshen your breath, though. Some people chew gum out of habit or to kick a habit (i.e. smoking, biting nails). Gum with sugar in it can lead to decay, whereas sugarless gum doesn't! Gum with xylitol (a sweetener) in it has been shown to help reduce the risk of tooth decay.

No sugarless is better for your teeth, b/c it does not have sugar in it to promote tooth decay.

However, chewing gum can lead to another painful condition, called TMJ - temporomandibular (jaw) joint diseases.

No,sugarles gum does not harm teeth and it tastes better than regular.(if you ask me.)
