We had really great insurance but, it went up from a little less than $600.00 to over $1000.00. We cannot afford that.

For health insurance, no, not really. As you get older, private health insurance costs go sky high. That happens because you get bumped into a high risk group. Even if you don't have any diseases, by virtue of your age, the chances of one occurring are great. You'll have to start taking a look at high risk insurance. However, once you turn 65 years, you can get medicare. Just remember if you don't sign up immediately for B or D and don't have comparable insurance, if you sign up later, they will charge you a premium.
Just contact other health insurance companies, insurance agent, or some web sites have compare insurance rates, and see what you can get.
You can lower your costs by increasing your premium.
