You should definitely try to make it something that only you will have. A pawprint is cool. I have 3 pawprints on my back, one for each of my cats. What makes them unique is that they are my cats pawprints. I also have the planetary symbols for Jupiter and Saturn on my shoulder blades. Jupiter is lucky (both bad and good luck) and Saturn balances it out. It's kind of like having a yinyang symbol, but nobody I know has anything like it or even knows what it means.

First and foremost, make sure wherever you are planning to get the Tatoo is clean and above board. There are many inconsistent ideas about Tatoos, infection, Hepatitis etc. I, myself, have a Tatoo, on my chest of a white dove carrying a black rose. I have had it for 11 years, and got it after much thinking and at the age of 40. When you go about checking places to get one follow these principals, 1) ask to see the environment in which they do their work 2) make sure they change the needle and the ink each time they do a new Tatoo on someone 3) Steralized area, hands, table, equipment, everything, you can not be to cautious. Those are just a few of the things to consider. Also, check out the people doing the Tatooing, do they look clean, well kept, do they have any certifications on the wall, talk to others to find out the best place to go..After I received mine which was recommended to me by a friend, I did not know that the ink itself can carry Hepatitis , AIDs and a hoste of other problems, or I just did not think about it..About 4 years later I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, a very severe case of which I had to take shots of Interferon for 12 months and Ribaviron pills for the same amount of time. I do not know or for that matter think I got it from the Tatoo as I had had a blood transfusion in the early 80s. My point is, you can never be to careful..Also make sure you put it somewhere that it
no one can see it because as a professional,,hiring someone with a Tatoo on there an ankle or somewhere visable does not look good or professional. Also, remember that once you get a Tatoo it is very hard get rid of. Think this through carefully and be aware of the surrounding and ask lots of questions, OK
Good luck

If you don't know what kind of design you want you aren't ready. You don't want to be getting it painfully removed in the future. Make sure that the tattoo is something meaningful to you and don't get one that is too big the first time. Be creative don't just get a butterfly or a flower because it's an easy choice. Ask friends that are tattooed to recommend a good artist and when you are ready go in and talk to them. You have to trust them and see their previous work. Or you may end up with a deep scar, a messy design or an infection. Just another bit of advice, if you are afraid of the pain there is cream behind the counter at Shoppers that will numb the area. Good luck.

It should mean something to you. It should be personal. Don't desperately try to make a statement with your skin (we have shirts and bumper stickers for that). I think a paw print would be perfect if that is something you know you won't regret. I love animals too.

Paw print is cute..I've never seen those before. I'm not one for tattoos on a girl but if I was to get one, it'll probably be one of those Chinese looking symbols..one for health, love and prosperity.

Anything you still want on your body at the end of your life ... with all the changes that will occur to your skin.
Personal choice - but I would say, SKIP IT.

that is entriely your choice. I think I would decide myself if I was going to get my body inked for life, not let people on the internet decide. But good luck to ya
