will he still bark at people who get near the house? He use to bark at anyone near the house now he is just in his dog house is it because he is still in pain? I hope he stays as playfull as he use to be before he got neutered. I want him to take care of our home.

Give him time to heal, and he will be back to his old self.

A dog getting neutered does not effect him barking at people who get near the house. He isn't right now because he is still in pain. He will be back to his old self in no time. Since he just got surgery, keep him inside because there is a chance that he can get an infection.

He just needs a couple of days to heal up and he will become his old self again. I had a male dobie that was neutered and I had hoped he would settle down after that....not at all. He was still was a goof-ball, nut case always into something until his dying day.

He is still re-cooperating. He will be in pain for at least a week. You shouldn't let him run or jump around for at least that long. After he is feeling better he will be his playful-barking self. Give him lots of TLC!

Once he gets over feeling icky, he'll be just fine. If anything, he'll be more affectionate than before.

The barking is probably more of a habit than anything else. You'll have to watch him and find out.

All being neutered means is that he can't have babies. I used to have a neutered dog who was perfectly energetic and playful for a long time.

My dog still barks (sometimes I wish he didn't) at least not so much. But at least he's keeping me aware of the surroundings.

I hope your not leaving him out side because his stitches can get infected. Please bring him in. He just had surgery I'm sure it will take a while to recover just like you and me.
