I don't see anything wrong with expecting a man to be financially responsible. Like you said, if it's not the only thing she's looking for, it's a smart decision. I made sure my husband was a grown-up before I married him! Being financially responsible is a sign of maturity, means he takes care of business, has a steady job, and is serious about life.
Once you've had experience with loser guys who run up debt or can't keep a job, you realize how important that level of maturity is for your future, and the future of your children.
By the same token-- men shouldn't expect much from women who demand expensive lifestyles or think it's "cute" to call themselves a shopaholic.

As a guy, as long as you want the man and not the money, good for you. The problem with money is when it becomes your focus.
Supporting a family doesn't necessarily meaning owning a Mercedes. Most family members tell you something to the effect that "I don't know what his bank balance is, but, I know how I felt to sit in his lap, or how he smelt when he held me close, or how big his smile was when I graduated.
Money is a good thing, but not the only thing. Don't pass up a good man because he doesn't quite measure up to your views of success.

I think that it is okay to hope a guy has a lot of money, because frankly, it helps to not have money stress in your life. Many divorces stem from monetary problems. A guy with money can also afford to do fun things with you, that can better your life. The more fun, the more memories. Just don't date a jerk because he has money. And on the flip side, don't let a really great guy get away just because he does not have money. True love can't be beat by money. Also remember, a guy with money may be so into his career that he does not spend enough time with you.

Sure why not find a guy with money. I have been married for a long time now and marriage isn't easy. But I do know if our financial state was better we would have less arguements about money.

I think that as long as you are wanting to be with him for the right reasons, then it's ok. I understand wanting him to have enough money to support his family because I feel that way too.

I think everyone wants a significant other with money... I mean I think it's normal to want a guy who has some money... no one really wants to struggle with money for the rest of their married/family life... but i think it works the other way round... I don't think guys want broke/poor girls either...

I don't fault the ladies for liking me not only for my looks but for my money...I give them what they want and I get what I want from them. It's a win win situation and all about the Benjamins.
