Is it because they sit at there computers all day on the web instead of exercising. Would you not meet that someone special if you got off your *** instead off sitting in a room all day staring at a screen ?

Lousy question fella. First off, not all Americans are overweight. Second, a good number of Americans get up and exercise. Personally, I walk three miles on an every other day basis. Also I don't spend all day sitting at my computer. Currently I am taking a break from working outside earlier. I am about to head back to complete my work. Also, I have met that someone special and I am doing my best to impress the hell out of her.

Not ALL Americans, just 3/4 of Americans! Much of the US's present fat epidemic is due to the fact that we get much less physical exercise than previously. We tend to sit around watching TV and slavishly follow the dictates of the advertising media--and lots of junk food is cheap. That's just the tip of the iceberg, of course. But from my point of view in the last 40 years or so we have largely changed from a nation of "do-ers" to a nation of consumers who feel that we deserve everything to be done to us and for us. When everything is readily available, nothing is enough--including food. Regarding "finding someone special"; I already AM someone special. If someone comes along, that would be fine, if not, that's okay too. I don't sit in front of a computer or a TV all day ( or have my nose in romance books) because there's too much to do out there!

Well, what the h e l l are you doing right now? Sitting on your a s s doing the same thing you accuse Americans of doing. You're probably some 50 year old pervert, who still lives with his parents, and has nothing to do but harass people. Oh and yeah, I bet you're overweight too. Get a life Grandpa.

I don't see that all Americans are overweight. All of the most beautiful people are from America so don't flatter yourself by thinking you are so wonderful. Look at your country. It's full of drunken, un-educated, drug addicted, yes, overweight, illiterate morons. So, what are you doing? Sitting on your a** looking for that someone special? Bad luck, this isn't a pick up place. If you went back to school and learned something instead of pickling your brain with booze you might have seen that before you came on here! Jerk.

Lousy question man! I'd agree with one point England are catching up, voted the most over weight country in Europe just today in fact! However lets face it quite a few americans are extremely obese and it could be prevented but its not the case with the whole nation!

Don't say that people who sit on there computers are fat. On the weekends i play 3 hours of sports and on the weesdays i either have a soccer game, soccer practice, or basketball practice...not to mention 45 minutes of P.E.

Well, that's a ridiculous stereotype question. Not all Americans are overweight. I'm not. I go to the gym every day of my life and eat right. And by the way, YOU are on the computer!

>> It's very, very shiney.
>> I guess my house will stay a mess...
>> While I sit here on my hiney.

And how would you know how long people sit at the computer? Are you telling on yourself? Maybe some people are crippled and that is their only way forgetting what is wrong with them! don't be so quick to judge, lest you be judged!

some of us actually get up and do something but that isn't enough to keep your *** flat when fast food piles it on. the food is fast and so is the wieght gain. the us is aka the fast food capital of the world. you are what you eat and if you eat nasty fast fat, you'll be nasty fat. skinny people go on computers too, but lazy is like americans' new motto or something. "i'm too lazy, someone else will do it." but as i said before, not all americans are like that. but it seems like the one's we run into are.
