Say "pot-o-tea" over and over again, when you say that your tongue makes the same motion as when you roll your 'r's.

Bend your tongue to the roof of your mouth fairly close to, but not touching your teeth. Almost as though you were making a 'd' sound, but you don't quite make contact with the roof of your mouth. Then make that prolonged 'd' sound (only the air between tongue and roof will seem as though it's touching). You prolong the sound slightly. A rolled 'r' should come. Don't get discouraged, keep playing with tongue and roof until it comes - it's like learning to whistle, you think it will never come but as you keep trying it suddenly comes, and you wonder why it was ever so difficult! Good luck.
