Yes...
It is a good job experience... An excellent achievement to place on a college application... and having a congressman/woman write a letter of recommendation holds a lot of weight...
While I may not trust politicians I know and trust my teenager to tell me should anything inappropriate occur... My child also trusts me to not let a congressman/woman status stop me from getting justice should anything inappropriate occur...
The benefits far outweigh the risk of something happening... This year alone there are 100's if not 1,000's of congressional pages with only a couple of allegations of inappropriate behavior.. That equals less than a 2% chance that my child would be subjected to inappropriate behavior... Children daily participate in activities with a higher risk factor than being a congressional page...
If my child wanted to be a congressional page and had the opportunity I would encourage them to take it...

yeah of course, even though they'll be on the lesser end of a huge power imbalance, if they're shrewd enough to become congressional pages they're shrewd enough to know that the last thing a congressperson needs is a harassment suit.
Plus my kids will know Krav Maga so any perv senator will be eating their own office furniture if they try anything =)

Yes. It's a good experience if they're interested in politics, and not all congressmen are as bad a Foley, just remember, soem teachers have molested their students, but we still send them to school.

Foley is but one man.
Don't allow a singular example of bad behavior or experiences in any group to blind you to the benefits of the whole!
If we turned our backs to anything that failed or disappointed us just once then we'd find ourselves avoiding everything!
