My chemo treatments ended in January. I lost it all - pubes, lashes and brows, too. I barely have peach fuzz on my head after 9 months. Your answers will really help me if I have to adjust with a life without any hair . . . and looking sorta like Uncle Fester. Thanks!

It depends a lot on the type of chemotherapy you had. Some don't make hair fall out at all and others linger in your system and keep your hair follicals from properly restoring themselves for months or even a year or two. If you're concerned you should talk to your oncologist about any products you might be able to use to help.

If, for some reason, your hair won't grow back, there are organizations that will help you get permanent hair pieces at affordable prices. ("Look good...feel better" is one of them) I'm a 25 year old female and I love having really short hair now. I have so many cool wigs and hat/hair attachments. I can pick and choose my hair color, length and style from day to day.

i didnt lose all of my hair during chemo, but it took an aweful long time to grow it back....it's still not up to par and it's been 4 years since my last chemo shot.

i began losing hair in my 3rd month of treatment, peaked at 4 months and weaned off 5 and 6th months on treatment.

treatment ended and then my new hair began to come in, meanwhile, my leftover hair began to fall out.

not only did it grow back in, but totally different than what it used to be!

i once had more coarse wavy hair that i could simply curl with gel or mouse, now it is more less coarse and a lot less curly. putting gel or mousse in it doesn't do anything...it falls pretty straight and wavy.

don't worry....it will come back and at least you lost all of your hair during and didnt have to put up with what i did.

the good part of chemo for me is that i lost a lot of weight and i didn't have to shave!!! (that was nice!) however, i find that hair on the body does help keep you from getting cold!

good luck and if you need to holler you can contact me heppystephy at yahoo dot com

hugs!
