I hope parents are not leaving their kids to TV, it is a good source of information and entertainment. There is nothing wrong with Kids watching TV, but too much of a thing is bad too and HOPEFULLY they know or are being taught at home what is right or wrong and not watching Jack *** part 2 (or 1) and trying these stupid things at home. It is a scary thought, especially if they pick on something that would/could lead them into depression or sucide... there are just so many things. I think we need to constantly explain kids that tis just TV and whatever we are watching on TV is not for real, a lot of it is drama for entertainment purposes only.

You do have the ability to teach your children right from wrong and good from evil. You can't let the tv raise your children because they are going to live in a fantasy world with videogames and stuffs and when they grow and go out to live they wouldn't be prepared for life. Also if you let the tv raise your children they can grow up and be criminals or be a electrisist(they can grow up and turn out like they want because you didn't rise him you let the tv raise it for you, then can grow up crooked or maybe good, no one knows). And when they are all grown up its very hard to change them.

it is not about teaching right from wrong. It is about making sure as parents/adults that we guide our children in a Godly life path and if the show is not Godly or if God would not approve of it then dont let you kids watch it. Children need more books.

If people are brought up correctly in their faith, books and movies should not sway what they believe in.
You can decide for yourself what you believe is right and wrong, you can believe in God and not witchcraft or whatever, but you can still read books and watch movies that aren't the same as you believe. It's entertainment!
But I mean, if you do not want your children Reading it, than fine, but do not ruin it for everyone else with all of these BANS and idiotic crap.

Of course one can, and most people try to do so. But they need an appropriate foundation on which to build this. Most religions claim to be such a foundation, but I find those claims to be flawed; an adequate basis for a moral system can be derived from evolution, which applies to societies as well as species. A population adhering to a viable moral system will survive; one adhering to a non-viable one will die out. (Consider the Shakers.)

what the parents believe is right and wrong others should respect. as long as the parents abide by the laws rules and mores of the society in which they belong then they are doing the job of teaching their children as best they know how to take their place in society as others have done.

for all those "harry potter is ok" people, i want to say, that harry potter is not good. it is about wizards and curses and all that stuff that defies God. it is about witches and spells and evil things. I would rather give a kid gun powder to play with than that trash.
