Over the last 30 years I have adopted 4 dogs all of them I fell in love with them .(love at first sight) Now I have an Italian Greyhound and I love her . Labs are good my sister has three now and she thinks that is the best breed and she teaches dog training classes. Look for a dog that needs a home, not just for the breed

If you live in a town or city I would say small dogs. They live twice as long as big dogs, eat a lot less food, have more character (in my opinion), are claimed by experts to be the best watchdogs as they are more alert and tend to bark more at intruders), dont need as much exercise as big dogs and of course are much better as indoor dogs than big dogs. Their small size also makes having 2 or 3 dogs much easier, to keep each other company when youre gone.

Rescued dogs are the best - I've had a total of five and they are wonderful! Not only are they often housebroken and through with that puppy chewing stage but they seem to know that someone loved them enough to save them.

The best dog is the one you happen to love. I love my Maltese but, I have loved and will always love just about every other breed too. Big, small, purebred or mixed breed, it doesn't matter. I am a dog lover.

I'm not trying to sound preachy, but the best dog is the dog that fits your needs, preferences, lifestyle, personality, and has been well trained and socialized.

Although.... my breed of choice is the DOBERMAN!!!!

lab! The only reason I'm saying that is because i lost my lab not to long ago and she was SO sweet playful not TO energetic loved walks good with kid and Great with other dogs! I miss her SO much! So that's why i LOVE Labrador retrievers!her name was Scarlett and had a scar on her head and she was a yellow lab and we got her because her owner said she was ugly and she died of a saturated disk.so yeah that's my story

No such thing. Different circimstances call for different attributes and characteristics. Each dog breed has tendancies as to size and temperment and energy level. Each dog is an individual.

Depends on what you want in a dog.
Read about breeds at the AKC website. (www.akc.org)
You can learn about the personality and physical traits of each kind of breed, and then make an educated decision as to what kind of dog would best suit your lifestyle and wants.
