you can use wax.....not from a candle.....but you can buy a tub of wax from hairdresser.......its similar to gel but it does not set...my dad used to use brylcream that would work aswell...

You can make your own hair spray by mixing sugar and water.
But be careful not to use a lot if you're going to be hanging outside - bugs will be attracted to you!

bees wax or they have hair glue called spiked works GREAT my hair is past the middle of my back and i got it to stick straight up in the air
