Taxes are not raised to make people quit, all lefty bullshit about public safety.

Bottomline, taxes of an inflexible good.

People will continue to pay a long time ever increasing prices for their ciggarettes before it finally prevents them from being able to buy them.

Prices here in california might go up even more if a bill passes in a month. It wont affect anything. Just more revenue for the state.

I wish it would, but I doubt it will. I can remember when cigarettes were less than a dollar a pack. I stopped smoking when they reached $1.25. The habit was too costly on many levels. Too bad the fact that their health is going down the tubes doesn't stop most smokers. It's such an awful habit.

Unfortunately not. Smokers will do anything to justify their habbit

Here in Chicago a pack of smokes is around 6.50 - 7.00 a pack...and these same loosers complain about the price of gas!

Of course not. It's just pissing a lot of smokers off. Heroin is illegal and i'm sure burns a hole in your pocket, but you don't see many addicts quitting.
