do you notice that seasons affect your SI behaviors?? Do you think that SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) plays a part in your behaviors? I know for me fall is the hardest time yet it is my favorite season. I get more migraines and my depression worsens and I wanted to possibly chat with people who share similar experiences. . . thanks for taking the time to get back

I started in the winter months...February to be exact. It's always around Christmas and afterwards that I'm the most depressed. I really don't know if I cut less in the summer, completely because of emotions. I think I just cut in different places, and if I do cut less it's because I don't want to wear tons of clothes in the hot-weather. Because winter allows certain leverage. Cold weather and you can pile on more clothes...so that probably plays the biggest part for me.
If I can't cut myself I just do other (possibly worse) things, like starving myself or bathing in scalding water.
So, I guess for me it's just a matter of irrational practicality.

Summer is probably the easiest for me cuz i know that my mom would figure out that i cut myself since i cut my belly. the hardest has to be fall or winter cuz everything depressing happens like when ur team loses or u go out with more people and break up. i also have never heard of sad till now. it probably does contribute to it.

I don't cut anymore, but winter is definitly the hardest time for me and the time i used to cut the most. I think it's definitly seasonal depression, on top of the overall bad feeling I always had. That and it's easier to hide cuts and bruises in the colder months so i used to tend to let myself go, i guess.

ok I cut and my hardest season is also fall, but I think it has more to do with me going back to school that the actual season, plus I'm 13 and never heard of SAD before now.
