what you are talking about is actually called a triquetra or sometimes called a triqueta. it is an ancient symbol and means trinity. it was adopted by christians, as it repersents a trinity (the, father, the son and the holy ghost) this symbol is one of the earliest christian signs, predating the cross by hundreds of years.

Now to answering ur question. I have many Tattoos none of which have any importance atall!!! i just think they look pretty. i have a polynesian tribal sleeve on my leg, some crappy tribal thing on my upper arm, a star round my elbow, stars on each wrist and the chinese for life on 1 wrist and death on the other.................also a couple of days i got the word "****" tattooed on my **** cheek! thought i could get a few laughs with that!
I think the tattoo you want sounds really good because it means something to you and will always be important. it depends on the type of person u r though. i dont really care about my body, id rather cover it in doodles :-)

I have 2 tattoos and love them. One is on my back of a small closed rose and the other is on my chest of a butterfly.

With regards to the 5 year ones sometimes they don't last 5 years and sometimes it can go wrong and never come out.

If you want to get a tattoo make sure it is something you really want and have it in a place that when you get older it can be hidden.

There are products nowadays that can be tattooed onto the skin to make it reject the ink so even when you do get to 60 and don't like it you can have it removed.

I have one just below my collarbone, about 2" square - easy to hide, easy to show, depending on my mood. In an area that's not prone to sagging, drooping, or getting stretch marks, and is somewhere that *I* can see it (since, after all, I got it for ME).

Before you do the triquetra from Charmed, you may want to ask yourself - "Is this something I'm going to want on my body when I'm 40? 50? 60?" and if the answer isn't an immediate "Yes", then wait and think about it some more.

Tattoos go on a lot easier than they come off. A lot cheaper, too.

I have 3 tattoos and want more. My first is a yellow rose on my left calf. My second is a red heart with flowers around it and a banner with In Memory of Amber on my right leg(gonna add dates to this soon). My third is a teddy bear with my three kids in hearts around him on my left shoulder blade. I want one on my lower back but I don't know what yet.

I have 2 and am planning on getting more. I have my husbands name over my heart. Then on my other breast I have a heart with a ribbon around it that says "Bert, My Love, My Life, My Eternity" with his b-day at the top and our wedding date at the bottom. He has the same saying on his neck, around his collar bone like a necklace. He's tattooed from his head to his feet, very little room left for him to get more. He used to be a tat artist.
The next one I get will be a heart with angel wings on each side, my kids name in the heart. Devil horns on top of the heart with a halo around one, and a devils tail at the bottom of the heart. Kind of symbolizes their personalities, angels disguised as devils. Something like that anyway.
I like the tat idea you have, I think you should get it.

I've got 3...a 1-2cm heart on lright shoulder, a 6cm+ cupid on left shoulder & a butterfly (abt 4cm) on top of my right foot.

Im planning a design for a 4th which will symbolise my heritage but I think its gonna be very intricate, painful (I want it on my back) & expensive so its still in planning stages at the mo.
