its a lunar month, we start fast at dawn and break fast at sunset, fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam, it is supposed to teach us discipline and hope that the discipline stays in our minds for the rest of the year otherwise the same month will come around again anyways! any more questions? haseeb_khwaja3738@yahoo.com,

It's called Ramadan. They fast during the daylight hours and eat at night (only once per night). The month is about drawing closer to God, and getting out of the world - spiritually speaking.
