At 6 months old he's a teen-ager and his hormones are starting to come in to play. if it wasn't another dog he'd find something else!
If the older dog is yours then you need to get him neutered or he will soon show Dominance Aggression and start challenging the other dog and it will end up with them fighting!
For now be very firm with him and as soon as he starts call him to you and make him sit or lie at your feet for a short while. BE FIRM But DONT SHOUT or HIT him! You have to be very persistent and never let him get away with it. Do it now or it will become an even bigger problem and not just for you.
Neutering cures this and fighting too. Two males kept together will periodically fight unless the older one lets the other take Alpha position and he wont if he is fit.
Both dogs should be Neutered! you'll end up with nicer healthier dogs.

Well, it is a dominance issue, you need to show you dog that is not acceptable behavior. When he (she?) does this, you correct it verbally, to get their attention, and make them stop the humping. If verbally doesn't do it right away, try making them wear a leash so you can give a quick short jerk on the leash so they have their action stopped by you, and a verbal reprimand to associate the verbal with the physical. After a few times, this should show the dog that you don't allow this behavior. Good luck!

It's a normal behaviour...the younger dog is challenging the older dog and trying to get him to submit. My dog does this too, but we made the mistake of not getting him fixed until he was two years old and he continues the humping to this day!

Yes it is normal I had my Lab neutered right around that time, because it only gets worse. It is also a dominance issue in dogs not a sexual thing. Getting him neutered will caught down on the drive and lessen any aggressive tendencies especially with other dogs.

The humper is trying to establish dominance. Dogs are pack animals and one is the alpha dog (in this case your older one). The new one is trying to be the boss now. Very normal. My two Dachsunds do that to each other and sometimes to the cat(s) too! Yes, I know, don't start with the Dachsund and cat jokes. :)

Is your dog small or big. Smaller dogs go into heat earlier that larger ones. You shoild really think about getting it spayed or neutered and that will hopefully take care of the issue.
