My son was like this, I stopped breastfeeding him when he was 1 beccause i became pregnant with my daughter, she is now 7 months old and is breastfed. I let him try it and he said it was yucky and though he said that he asks almost all of the time, but I told him that he is a big boy and has his own milk, besides this would be his cut off time had I not been pregnant. He is now 2 and I plan to feed my daughter til she is 2. If you are troubled by it, ask your pediatrician what you can do, but I think that if you make him a snack as was said before and snuggle him on the one side and baby on the other side to feed, he will be happy with that. Oh, my eldest daughter was 5 when her brother came, this is just a stage of jealousy, it gets better in time. Good Luck!!

There is nothing wrong with your allowing the 4 year old to breastfeed if he wants to and you are comfortable with it. If you are not comfortable with the older boy breastfeeding try and make the time you are breastfeeding the youngest special for the oldest buy playing a game with him or reading to him while his younger brother feeds.

just answer no. somethings you need to be pretty matter of fact about. you may want to joke around a little with him and say that if he wants to put a diaper back on and go back to earlier bedtime and only baby toys then you might think about it...and act like its a wierd thing to say and be silly about it. just tell him its not what boys his age do and hes too old for a lot of things now because he is a big boy.

Make him a snack and have him sit and snuggle together. Explain to him that he is not a baby anymore but that you love him just as much if not more than you did when he was a baby. Show him pictures of him and you when he was a baby. He'll get it.
