My daughter is showing all the signs of being ready to be potty trained but she won't use the potty. We have been working on it for almost two months and there has been no progress. She is only 21mo old but I did not start trying until she sat on her potty on her own and peed. Can anyone help me?

Also she pulls off her pull-up to go potty just not in the potty.

I have an e-book on potty training in 3 days or less. the method is great! it may be just what you need for your daughter. You can email me at starsalso@yahoo.com and I would be more than happy to forward it to you. It did the trick on my 19mo old daughter, and my friends very difficult 3 year old boy.

This is a very early age so don't worry much. My daughter first used the potty around 18 months old.She is now 32 months old and finally done training. The last thing I tried with her was to let her pick out panties(dora) and in the morning when she woke up I would ask her panits or diaper, she would always choose panties,we put the panties on, when she went potty in them I would just tell her she wasn't ready to be a big girl today and go to diapers for the rest of the day and three days later she was trained. Good Luck

Let her go at her own pace. My daughter was the same way--she was closer to 3 when she finally got the hang of it, and was almost 3 1/2 when I was relaxed enough to take away the pull-ups. My pediatrician wanted us to "bribe" with a huge celebration, food, toys, etc every time she pottied but I couldn't get into that. We made a grid of 25 squares on a paper and every time she pottied, she put a sticker in a square---when the sheet was full, she got a small toy from the dollar store. Hope this helps!

I potty trained my daughter by putting the potty in the bathroom and whenever I sat on the potty, she sat on her potty too. It became a routine. She had accidents from time to time which is expected but that how she learned. Hope it helps.

My son didnt want to use the potty at all, I tried everything, I didnt push him, He wasnt potty trained untill he was 3 and a half, but with him I used these star stickers and hung a paper in the bathroom, and everytime he went on the potty, he would pick a star and stick it on the paper. He loved it...it worked for him....good luck and dont worry about it, she will do it when she is ready!

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. 21 months is still young. Just go with what she decides - today she might not want to use the potty, but tomorrow she will. Don't rush or force it and make her part of the decision - ask her, do you want to use the potty now? Do you want to come with me to the potty? I think if you take a casual, non-chalant approach she'll ease into it and be using the potty before you know it.

You are not doing anything wrong. It took me 6 months of doing that before my daughter was potty trained. Some children are harder then others to potty train. It sounds like you are on the right track just be patient because if you loose your temper it might make her not want to use the potty.

Good Luck =)

If you are a stay at home mom this will work or you can just do it on your days off: Put her in panties, let her feel when she wets herself and when she does take her to the potty and place her on it and tell her that pee pee /poo poo goes in the potty. Be consistent every time. But take her and sit her on the potty about every 30-45 minutes to teach her to go on the potty. After a while she will get it....I hope...because that is what I am doing with my 19mth old. Praise her lavishly when she does go in the pot and give a sticker or candy reward. I also bought a kiddie potty book and I read it over and over so the idea gets in her little mind Good Luck

GET RID OF THE PULL-UPS COMPLETLY!!!

They are just fancy diapers...you can not potty train when she is still wearing a diaper. Take her to the store let her pick out training pants...get a bunch and be prepared for accidents. She is ready but she still has a diappy on so if she messes up what is the consequence? A fresh diappy. If she gets wet w/the training pants on she will learn very quickly that the wet pee doesn't feel good. It's not mean it's potty training! But when she has wet her big girl undies and has to change clothes she will learn it's much easier just to reconize she has to go potty and goes.
I bet you will have her trained in a week if you get rid of those diapers! =)

You are doing nothing wrong don't push it or she will just regress on you, she will do it when she is ready, you can't force a child to go on the potty...now a days children are usually not FULLY potty trained until almost 3, maybe alittle earlier for girls...good luck
