Tell me about it, lol.
Normally it's because you realise what you've missed out on, when you see the person with there new partner, (If you fancied the person before).
And sometimes it's because we just feel attracted to the person and can't help it. If somebody reasonably attractive starts talking or hanging around with you, Then it's hard not to get attracted.
Some people just like a challenge and go for things they can't have.

I guess you just notice more cos if you were attracted to someone you could have, you would, and then you wouldn't think about it anymore.
I partly think it's a safety issue and a dreaming issue, if you know that there is no chance ever of having them then daydreams about them are safe because they'll never spoil your rose-tinted specs. Also if you can't ever have them then they can't ever hurt you.
And lastly, if you fancy someone you never see their bad side, you only ever realise that they leave their scrotty pants with skid marks in them on the bedroom floor for two weeks when you start going out :o)

I do that too!I was attracted to this boy in my school but I had a feeling,I can't have him.So I just gave up.Besides his ex-girlfriend is planning on getting back together with him.So I have no choice but leave it alone. So I have no idea why we're attracted to people we can't have.

Those that you can have are in the past tense, those that
you cannot have, provoke your imagination into a frenzy.
