If you mean you have cataract and you did not do surgery yet then there is no risk in wearing your contacts, but don't expect it to help your vision much. The presence of a cataract does not cause any conflict with wearing the contacts. (apart from the usual problems encountered with contacts)

If you mean that you had your cataract operated and want to wear contacts after the surgery... well there are many factors I have to know before answering that.. when did you do the surgery? and why would you want to wear contacts post op. Is there an intraocular lens implanted or not.? you should know that refraction changes after cataract surgery so the contacts you used to use before surgery won't be good after the surgery.. u won't see well with them..

Some people, inspite of optical correction and the cessation of the need for contacts after cataract surgery would still want to wear colored contacts for cosmetic reasons, or some poeple might still need some optical correction after surgery but would not like to wear glasses, in that case contact lens wearing is possible, but after some time, not directly post op. You will have to check with your surgeon so when he examins you and finds your eyes quiet enough post operative he can allow you to wear your contacts. In uncomplicated cataract surgery this usually takes sometime between 1 and 4 weeks, according to surgeons opinion.

Not sure of the risks, but if cataracts are bad they won't help you see any better. I was legally blind with cataracts and had them removed and now only wear glasses for reading. Better get 'em fixed.
