Sure - mention Sarai, who lied for Abram, then let him have sex with her maid. Mention Miriam, who when she and Aaron complained, was given leprosy, but Aaron was fine. Or how about Lot's daughters, who got their dad drunk and had sex with him? Or you could talk about how there were so many "barren" women in the Bible. Or how about this little gem - God is angry at David for having Uriah killed. As a punishment, he will have David's wives raped by his neighbor while everyone else watches. It turns out that the "neighbor" that God sends to do his dirty work is David's own son, Absalom. Or my personal fave - Two sisters were guilty of "committing whoredoms" by pressing their breasts and bruising "the teats of their virginity." As a punishment, one sister's nakedness was discovered, her children were taken from her, and she was killed by the sword. And the fate of the surviving sister was even worse: Her nose and ears were cut off, she was made to "pluck off" her own breasts, and then after being raped and mutilated, she is stoned to death. Perhaps those are things you can use?

In the Book of Joshua we have Rahab, who at great personal risk, helped Israelite spies check out the defenses of the city of Jericho, and later became an Israelite herself.

The Book of Ruth tells the story of the faithful and loyal woman from whom we can trace the first direct bloodline of Jesus. There's a love story in there, too.

Deborah was a Judge in ancient Israel, which was a pretty high profile, action hero type of role, especially for a woman of that time.

Esther used her feminine charms to save her people, and to see that an evil man got what was rightly coming to him.

These are all good stories about strong, God fearing women.

Many will say Ruth, but what about Rebeckah? If you go into the significance of what she did when Abraham's servent first saw her, and everything that happened after that, including when she first saw Isaac. It's very powerful and significant stuff, if you know the meaning behind the actions.

Deborah... History about her is in Judges 4. The song from Judges 5 is wild ;-)

601,730 MEN of military age (Num 26:51) had entered the "Promised Land" a few years earlier. The number at the time of Deborah is unknown, but in the midst of that male dominated culture with MANY MEN available, God CHOSE a WOMAN to lead Israel.

...5:24 “May Jael be the most blessed woman of all.
May the wife of the Kenite Heber be blessed.
May she be the most blessed woman of all those who live in tents.
5:25 Sisera asked for water. She gave him milk.
In a bowl that was fit for nobles she brought him buttermilk.
5:26 Her hand reached out for a tent stake.
Her right hand reached for a hammer.
She hit Sisera. She crushed his head.
She drove the stake right through his head.
5:27 He sank down. He fell at her feet.
He was lying there.
At her feet he sank down. He fell.
He fell where he sank down.
That’s where he died.

Try Deborah who was a housewife and told the general of the Jewish army to go to war.

They won.

Also, the enemy general escaped and was beheaded by another Jewish housewife who then brought his head back to Debborah.

Her story begins in Judges Chapter 4.

WOMEN RULE!!!!!
