..did you tell them why?

Even obese people need to eat something each day. I would never try to judge someone by their weight and attempt to enforce my ideal diet on them. Even working as an RN, if people want to eat something that is not on their diet, I cannot refuse them. I can attempt to counsel them, or offer alternatives, but the ultimate decision is up to the individual. The only way an employee could refuse service to someone would be if they had no money to pay with or broke some other restaurant rules that would preclude refusal.

why in the world would you ask a question like that? That's about the most rude thing I've heard all day. I'd refuse service to a drunk....and have....I would NEVER sink so low as to refuse service to an over-weight person, besides, it's against the law. Who are you to tell a person, I'm not serving you because you're over-weight. The last I heard, God was still alive and well.

Its against the law to refuse service to a customer based on size, only if they are disorderly and a danger to others, can you refuse service, and get them kicked out.

What an ignorant question, why would anyone deny service because of this? If you did deny service based on body build then you probably shouldn't be in this type of business.

No. That's discrimination and it is illegal. It can cause your company to get sued and you to lose your job. If they want to kill themselves that is there business. If you don't want to serve obese people you need to change jobs.

why would someone ever do this? everyone has the right to eat whatever they want, regardless of their size.
that's like saying you'd refuse service to someone based on their race. it's just wrong.
why don't you just mind your own business?

I would not do this. It is out of line and judgmental. I am not a customer's conscience or caretaker.
