doors close on its own and strange noise. Is there a site where I can do more research on the house that i'm living in?

You could go to your local library or city archival society and look through old newspapers. You may be able to go to city hall and ask there..get blue prints of the house / land ..that might not tell you anything ...but you never know..hidden doorway or whatever....
find out if you have any long term neighbours .. people that have been living in your area for like 10-20 years ..they may be able to tell you some history.
That is what I would do anyway..ask around you never know who knows what.

not a site but the abstract of title would give a certain amount of information as well as the reference department at your local library
also a local museum if you have one along with former owners and/or renters

Sounds like a poltergeist to me. Burn some sage and put salt in every corner of your house; also, burn black candles. It should leave.
